Get Involved > Volunteer

At the heart of any successful organization, are the people who are willing to get involved. From fundraising to being a PTO member to helping out in the classroom; there are many different opportunities available to those who are interested in becoming a part of the LVCS community. Volunteering is also a great way to meet other LVCS families!

Even if you only have only a few hours a week or month to spare, please contact our volunteer coordinator Mollie Schrodi. Together, there is so much we can do to make LVCS an exceptional place for our children.

There are many volunteer positions off campus and after hours, but if want to volunteer on site during school hours you will first need to be cleared through a background check and TB test. This process includes filling out a few forms, getting a simple TB skin test and being fingerprinted at Livermore Livescan. There are also charges involved. Please see below for current schedule of fees.

To be cleared you will first need to pick up forms in the front office:

  1. Request for Live Scan Service
  2. Registered Volunteer Fingerprint Criminal Background Check and Authorization Form - Notification and Release
  3. Student Privacy and Volunteer Confidentiality
  4. No Longer Interested Notification

A fee will be collected when you receive your forms. Then you will need to go to Livermore Livescan to be fingerprinted and then return completed forms to LVCS front office along with your TB test results that you can arrange with your own doctor.

Please note:
Fingerprinting needs to be done for each organization that you volunteer for since DOJ information is not shared across organizations as it is confidential to the organization that you paid your fees to. If you have already completed this process for another school or organization you will, unfortunately, need to repeat the process in order to work on campus when students are present.

We need three adult volunteers for morning and afternoon valet positions.

Yard duty
Safety is always a priority at LVCS. Our plan for this year includes, as always, volunteers. We are asking grade levels to take specified months and provide volunteers for yard duty from 11:30-1:00 pm for the elementary level. Individual teachers will be responsible for approximately one week twice this year.

We will provide training and be out there with you. Let your child's teacher know if you are willing to help. It is for the safety of our kids!
